Francophile Friday: Festive Frivolity

'Tis time to scoot around for the festive season.  We're all decked out and ready to go.  The party-size tower of violet macarons is safely strapped on board. Hugh flew in especially to rig the engineering and head the scootercade.  I hope the dear man has sufficiently recovered from the "Oprah Incident".  We wouldn't want to lose our precious cargo, would we.

We're wearing our fluffiest party frocks.  Our furry friends have been bathed in eau de violette then gently blow-dried with a diffuser attachment to tickle kitty and retain puppy's curls.  First stop: the Louboutin store and headquarters on rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau in Paris to pick up some dancing shoes.   {Thanks to dear Katie for the photo inspiration!}  Next stop:  I'm open to suggestions.  And after we've licked the last crumbs of macaron from our fingers, kicked off our Louboutins and waved au revoir to Hugh at Charles de Gaulle, I'm taking a weensy blog holiday while I relax and unwind.  {Rumours of a spa detox will be grossly exaggerated...}

Thank you for another year of fun and friendship, both here and chez vous.  See you in the New Year.  Wishing our furry friends warm beds, full tummies and loving homes ~ and the same to you.  And on that note...

Happy Francophile Friday and Festive Frivolities to you!

Francophile Friday: SubLime

10.12.10

ink & watercolour weensy meep miniature, 2.5 x 3.5" [6.5 x 9cm ] ACQUIRE A MEEP
 This summery façade in Paris was captured on camera by our Katie a few months ago.  {Thank you for the inspiration, Katie!}  It caught my eye again this afternoon.  We've finally had a couple of fine, steamy days here and this scene looks very much at home.  It turned my thoughts to a refreshing Pine-Lime Splice.  Lamentably, I have none in the freezer, but  fret not.  In the absence of this iconic Australian ice-block, I found that Chambord liqueur on the rocks is not only complementary to lime on the colour wheel, but an appropriate accompaniment to writing a Francophile Friday post.  And apparently it's all-natural, ergo good for us {while providing the invaluable opportunity to say ergo}.  And on that note...

Happy Francophile Friday to you!

Friday Fleurish: A Fancy of Feline

3.12.10

ink & watercolour illustration, 7" x 8.75" [18 x 22.5cm] Order print here
Blue skies smack me over the head with happy vibes and are always welcome at my place.  But at least the grey cloud cover that doggedly pursued November into December is keeping summer's heat and humidity at bay, thus saving a girl from many bad fur days.  Whether it's a weekend of raindrops on roses or whiskers on kittens {such as these luscious ones on Virginia's grandkitty}, here's wishing you more than a few of your favourite things.  And on that note...

Happy Friday Fleurish to you!
