Venerdi in Venice: Flirting with Lilac Frills

{Lilac Frills in Venice : ink pen, pencil, watercolour illustration by Shell-Sherree}

Ciao!  Patience is a virtue ~ and Saints preserve us, thank heavens I have some very virtuous Venice-loving souls amongst you. {Bless your fuzzy loyal hearts!}

It's a glorious day for lilac frills and the clink of glasses lending a splish-splash of prosecco to echo the lapping canal below.  Let us twirl.  And on that note ...

Happy Venerdi in Venice to you!

  3. I have a dress of that very same colour, but realise now that my Headgear has been All Wrong. What a delicately lovely picture.

  4. Molto molto bella, cara Shell (et mille grazie per Venezia). You took your inspiration and upped it a notch with that beautiful shade of lavender. I can see some romantic chap gliding up the Grand Canal in a boat to serenade her. Sigh.

    1. Grazie, cara Alexa ~ and goodness me, lands sakes ~ what was I thinking?! Goes to show how long it's been since we had a wander in Venice. I neglected one of our usual accompaniments. Perhaps we can imagine this romantic chap doing the serenading ... ;)

  5. Evviva, Venezia è tornata! It's been a long time between proseccos, but the wait was worth it, cara Shell. Grazie di cuore.

    PS On my next trip to Italy, it's going to be 2/3 in Florence, 1/3 Venice. Fickle, unfaithful, etc. Baci, bella.

    1. You're most welcome, dear Y. You could have knocked me over with a feather at your 2/3 1/3 equation for your next trip. Does this mean I need to put Florentine Friday into the mix? Baci back at you, bella.

  6. You have been missed. I guess I need to play Chris Botti more often as I was playing over the weekend and thought of you cara Shell.
    It will be a while until I'm back in Venezia so this helps quench my thirst for all things Venetian.
    Ciao, ciao, Bella....baci e baci,
    Michelle

  7. Simply lovely! I agree with the others that she will soon be serenaded by a handsome stranger....
    And looks like Kitty is enjoying herself, too. Macie approves ;)

    1. I suspect there's a grasshopper lurking in those flowers for our kitty, dear Ms M. Macie might approve of the fun that would entail, too.

  8. Wish I could say I've been lost in Venice and hence haven't been to Chez Vous, but alas the truth is I'm just lazy at the moment. :)

  10. Venice is one of my favorite cities. Mississippi, Arizona, Venice - It all has to do with the brick red of the earth.

Merci, grazie, thank you for joining our conversation lounge. Your smile lights up the room. Even more beautifully than our crystal chandelier. x
