Ahh, leopard print!  I should stick with a pretty clutch or pair of pumps, but today, all restraint went out the window.  Hello, statement coat!

The current slouchy 'wear everything three sizes up and all at once' trend might suit suit those of the 6 foot tall persuasion, but those of the 5 foot two persuasion?  Not so much.  Today's illustration is point in case.  I had to add 12 inches to my stature and even so, it seems I'm wearing a leopard dressing gown over my dearly departed grandpa's duds and my nephew's sneakers.  But gosh dang, in spite of it all, I kind of like it.

So come, let us enjoy the comfort of running shoes and an outfit that will surely camouflage the most overindulgent of pastry feedings and several belt notch releases with ease.  Heck, I think we could tuck an entire macaron tower in there.  Shall we test the theory?  And on that note ...

Happy Francophile Friday to you!

Francophile Friday : Where in the Louvre-Rivoli Be We?

Today's illustration demonstrates my kind of map.  Easily viewed without a magnifying glass and pared down to pretty pictures of the essentials.  Life's too short to get lost in the fine print.

For a travel wardrobe, I'd pack pictures of the essentials, too.  If only I could figure out how to create 'just add water' garments that didn't dissolve into Emperor's new clothes in the rain.  But we're some years and a Kickstarter campaign away from a grow-your-own gown that's as fluffy as this.

Fairy floss and candied violets plump a high percentage of its voluminous rufflage. By the time we've snacked our way to the next metro stop, it will be cocktail length.  Let's hope we still have a mini-skirt in place by the time we reach the Moulin Rouge, or an inadvertent audition could be on the cards.  Sacré bleu and pass the sequins!  And on that note ...

Happy Francophile Friday to you!

Fashionable Friday Fleurish : Peace, Love and Flower Childs

All aboard the peace train!

Peace train, peace florist ... it's all the same to me.  And as I sit here not quite mid-August in a sleeveless top amid the rumble of an almost summeresque storm, I'm happy in the knowledge that dresses are not too far away.  Woohoo!  I love my jeans but I'm wondering if it's time for us to see other people.  It's not them ... it's me.

So come, let us trawl op shops for heart-shaped sunnies and wield manicure scissors on Buxus japonica to craft peace signs Edward Scissorhands would envy.  I've ordered us a dozen on which to practise and carrot cake on which to eat.  And on that note ...

Happy Fashionable Friday to you!

 Happy Friday, my deer!

If there's something we can count on along with turning up toes and taxes, it's Audrey Hepburn for a beautiful quote.  And her love of animals.

So let's keep things short and sweet today and let this illustration and quote have their say.  Because "the best thing to hold onto in life is each other."  Well, that and your skirt on a windy day.  And on that note ...

Happy Furry Friends Friday to you!
