Catch the Metro to the Store

Why isn't our rail system called the Metro?  And why don't we have gorgeous signage for our stations like this one in Paris?   Is it really that much to ask???

While I haven't caught a train lately, I have finally put together my new Etsy storeSorry for the brazen hussy approach to letting you know.  Not as brazen hussy as this approach would have been...

Anyway, that's enough of the flagrant self-promotion for now ~ how about we have a celebratory glass of bubbly and talk about metros and brazen hussies ~ not necessarily in that order...

  1. Yeah Etsy! Self promote away, the people who love your blog want to know all of this.

  2. Such beautiful detail in the Metro sign painting.

    Congrats on the Etsy store. It is looking fine as is the brazen hussy and that chair.

  4. Thanks, Margaret! Self-promotion is not one of my strong points. :)

    Cali ~ thank you ~ and why did I have a feeling you'd like the chair? {The Metro sign goes without saying...}

    Mise ~ yay - now the luck of the Irish is with me, to be sure. Thank you! ;)

  5. This is great, Shell! (Both the store AND the Metro sign.) Such a coincidence: Just this evening, as I was coming out of the subway, I overheard a tough NYC teenager referring to it as the Metro! Go figure. I'm definitely up for a glass of bubbly and a conversation about metros with my fave brazen hussy! (And I haven't forgotten your list, I promise.)

  6. Woo hoo, I LOVE the Metro painting (and I'm saying that from one brazen hussy to another). Cool that you're on Etsy. I'll go check out your store. At least your rail system isn't called BART, which mine is!

  7. Shell, I'm from D.C. and the train is called the Metro there! I've never seen a lovely sign like yours in a station, though. More like graffiti, ads and grime.

    Congrats on your Etsy store! I love how you write sweet little descriptions for each item. You're not just a talented artist, you're a beautiful writer, too.

  8. Alexa ~ thank you and LOL! Pull up the chair while I draw another. :) {And I know you would not forget...}

    Thanks, Katie, my dear fellow brazen hussy, heehee. And BART? That's funny in so many ways...

    PCN ~ hooray for D.C.'s excellent taste in names, if not signs. {And thank you, you are kind! I like to try and make it interesting...}

  9. Probably cuz you don't have a metropolis for a metro.

  10. I hope the powers that be see this sign.

    (Had already been checking out some of your wonderful stuff last week. Am saving up for something.)

  11. Cafe ~ well, that's a very sensible answer for a canine. Not that canines aren't sensible, of course...

    Hiker ~ I hope so. If they are making a sign anyway, why not make it a beautiful one? {And thank you - how lovely! - we shall talk.}

  12. Aahh, lovely Shell. I had a bubbly (well, a scotch or two actually) for you last night :) I do love you in underwear and a sheer negligee. :)))

    Good luck with the store. Talent such as yours dear is already recognised world-wide so hopefully the $$$ will start flowing in very soon.
