One Day in Paris with Van Cleef & Arpels

Paris is not just the city of lights and romance, but fragrance and jewellery as well. I guess that makes sense, given all of these pleasures are so finely woven together. They go hand in hand, somewhat like the young girl and boy who take a journey through Paris and life during the little movie on Van Cleef & Arpel's site. If you love Paris, you'll adore taking a walk through her streets in this sweet clip to promote their UNE JOURNÉE À PARIS range.

The clip ends with a scene that's symbolic of this pendant.

Called Romance à Paris, it's made of white gold, lapis, turquoise, mother-of-pearl and diamonds. I love diamonds but being fair-skinned, I've always felt stones with colour suit me better. This has a little of both. So are diamonds always a girl's best friend? Perhaps it really depends on who the giver happens to be ...

  1. Ah, ah, ah! There is actual heartache in not being there. What is that? How can one fall in love with a city?

It's not just hype. All my life I saw the ads. But the city does not disappoint. I miss it, and I would rather stroll its streets than have diamonds or jewels of any kind.

  2. Petrea ~ I still haven't been, so I have to keep dreaming... and from what you say, I'm sure she will be all that and more.

  3. Oooh, Shell, I don't wear that much jewelry (allergic to everything except gold and silver) but I'd love to have that pendant!

Though the diamond is my birth stone, I feel the same as you--I want a bit of color and this pendant perfectly includes a little bit of everything. It's so romantic...sigh.

  6. Fair-skinned myself, I agree with you about the benefits of colored stones. But far be if from me to deny any diamonds offered to me, anytime, anywhere.
Diamonds may not be my best friend, but they can sure make me a friend.

  8. from cali ~ Oooh, a comment from you in Paris! I'm speechless. {Hee hee, as if!} How kind of you not to rub it in and perhaps tell us that only yesterday, you may have walked up these very stairs. Sigh.

Margaret ~ I think diamonds might come with a built in 'I'm OK, You're OK' clause.

  12. Alexa, aka Redhot ~ {Thank you!} Wouldn't that be so amazing for us all to be there at once! I'm guessing our conversations would be constantly interrupted by the snapping of photos {or the fluttering of Moleskines for some quick jottings}. Enjoy Paris Hotel Boutique ~ I might bump into you there under the aqua chandelier!
